My computer decided to take a crap a couple weeks ago so I have been without it for a while to update my blog....I have Andrew's computer to use also, but I do not remember all my passwords for everything so I didn't even try to write a new blog because i didn't want to attempt to remember the password....Then I get my computer and realize I only need to remember my gmail password (which I had accessed from Andrew's computer) and I could've written a blog or two in the past couple weeks. Oh well!
Anywho, I have found a potential job opportunity today....although it turned out the be a giant fail. The job is in Fort Wayne, which wouldn't be too bad of a drive, good pay, and it was a pediatric office...sigh. The problem: I don't have my Indiana license. I started filling out my application months ago but everything kind of came to a halt when I got my subbing position. Then after I was done with that, Indiana had changed a lot of things. So to get my license I have to re-send my NERB and National Board scores, I have to send a transcript, get another criminal background check, have 2 passport quality photos taken....So many things.
I started re-doing it today because I found that job...however the National Board people are taking me in circles and I have no way to get a certain piece of information that I need to get my score report.....I wish I could send a copy of my score, although I do understand why I can't just do that...It's just frustrating.
So the rest of my day I have spent with Emma watching Blue's Clue's and cuddling while eating chicken nuggets.. I guess it's been somewhat of a successful day. Now if only I could get myself motivated to clean the upstairs...or hire someone to do it for me. The downstairs is clean, fall decor is up now and now I need to swtich out some of Emma's 6 month pictures with her 9 month pictures!

Fed up with thredUP
My very first blog! ...and I am using it to complain. Go figure.
I want to bring to attention the "Swapping" site called thredUP. It is a site where you can list you child's outgrown clothes and look for clothes that will fit them and you "swap". The reason why I say "swap" is because in no way do I feel like I have swapped anything.
Basically what happens on this site is you get a bundle of medium flat-rate boxes from the post office and you stuff one of the boxes full of your child's outgrown clothes. You then list on the website what you included, colors, designs....you can also list books and toys. So then people can search for clothes and then if they pick your box they pay $15.95. The price breaks down like this: $10.95 goes to the post office for shipping, then the other $5 goes the thredUP. You then can buy a box (at the same $15.95 price) for your child. You get no money to go towards a box unless you get a promotion code.
So basically I sent out 4 boxes stuffed full of basically brand new clothes that were only worn 1-3 times. NONE of them had stains, holes, tears or even fading. And I got nothing in return. I basically donated 4 stuffed boxes of clothing. I get that the site may need some money to run their page, but they don't need to be making money off of my clothes. Right??!? Maybe I am overreacting, but in no way do I feel like I "Swapped" anything. I complained to them and of course they stand by their "Swapping". I removed myself from their site and will never be using them again for anything.
With that said, I was wanting to start a facebook page for mothers/fathers/aunts/grandparents...whatever!....it would be a swapping page for this general area where you actually swap clothes/toys/books, no money involved! (Other than maybe gas to get the stuff) Do you think something like this would work in the area? Or would you involve yourself in something like this?
Thanks for listening to my rambling!
